Fiona Friday - Test kitties

I've been having some problems with my Sony D-SLR, for a while, so after a great deal of consideration I decided to switch brands. The kitties both posed very nicely for my first test shots with the new camera! Even Fiona!

Izzy is almost always up for posing. I love her direct gaze.

  1. They're beautiful! What kind of camera did you get?

  2. Thanks, Kathy! I got a Nikon, primarily for the color balance (I was constantly correcting color with my Sony). So far, I'm happy with it, but I've only taken a handful of photos.

  3. What lovely kitties, and I have to say, that seems like a great camera!

  4. I can't get my camera to download to my new computer. I am devastated because I love my camera... I probably will have to buy a new one, but I really don't want to...

  5. My kids saw your post and both came over to admire Fiona's photo (since she looks so much like our Tiger).

  6. Zibilee,

Thanks! I happen to think they're lovely, too. So far, so good with the camera. I really need to read the instruction manual, though. ;)

    Kelly,

Oh, no! I have problems, every now and then. If you can find someone who really knows tech gadgets, you might be able to solve that problem without doing anything so drastic.

    Alyce,

How cool! I've seen photos of your tiger and the resemblance is really something. I hope your tabby is as sweet as ours. She is truly a gentle, loving animal.

  7. I have a pathetically old camera. I definitely need a new one. I have to say, though, kitties always look like they're asking, "What do you want now?!" Don't they? ;)

  8. Jenny,

You should definitely get a new camera. Even the little point and shoot digitals can be surprisingly good, these days.

LOL Fiona always looks like I'm disturbing her (and she makes it clear that I am) but Isabel is more curious than annoyed. She often bats at the camera if I get close enough.

  9. Oooh, a new Nikon?! Full-size or something smaller? I'm still hoping to get something a little more portable than my hefty Olympus, but after this week of plumbing woes, I doubt I'll get one this year. :(

The kitties make such beautiful models!

  10. Les,

It has a much smaller body than my Sony - very light. I really appreciate the weight because my other camera can make my neck ache. Yeah, household expenses would get in the way, all right! I've just got a body, actually; I'm using a borrowed lens until we come up with the money for the lens I want.

Thank you! Fiona's not usually a willing model, so I appreciate it when she doesn't bolt or turn away from me. Isabel is so curious that if I get in close she'll bat at the camera, sometimes to try to pull it closer to her. They're awfully fun models.

  12. Care to share more details? What's the model?

  13. Dead Trees,

    Thank you!

    Les,

Sure. It's a D5100. I still don't know how to work it, but the automatic settings have gotten me through the week. ;)

  14. Very nice! I still don't know how to use most of the stuff on our Olympus. The auto setting works just fine for now, until I do! Which may be never. ;)

  15. Les,

I know what you mean. I'd rather just point and snap, these days.
